Prescott Valley Energy Plans Approved
Last month, the Town of Prescott Valley approved Phase 1 of major energy improvements in town facilities. The first phase cost is $6.8 million, which is expected to generate $10.9 million in savings during its life cycle. This phase will include replacement of four 50-ton HVAC units on the Civic Center.
A new building automation system will be added to eight Town facilities, including the Library, Civic Center, Police Department, Event Center, Senior Center, Boys & Girls Club, Maintenance Building and Wastewater Treatment building, to allow for remote control, scheduling and monitoring of the Town’s HVAC equipment.
Electrical infrastructure upgrades will replace dated equipment and add ability for future needs such as solar and EV charging. Plumbing upgrades will replace and install high efficiency fixtures at seven buildings and 26 parks/outdoor areas. These upgrades will allow for significant water conservation of more than one million gallons per year.
Municipal energy audits, energy improvements and water conservations actions are all included in the Local Climate Action Options report. Good for the planet; and good cost savings benefits to local communities. Hats off to Prescott Valley Mayor and Council!
Prescott General Plan Reminder
As we reported last month, the General Plan process includes a heavy emphasis on citizen participation, including an initial survey.
FILL OUT the General Plan Survey Questionnaire. It's easy.

We encourage you to write a comment or two about how important it is to incorporate elements and strategies of both the Quad Cities Climate Profile and the Local Climate Action Options report into the 2025 Prescott General Plan.
